Google Ads
Track conversions from your embeddables using the Google Ads API to measure campaign effectiveness and optimize ad performance.
Setting Up Google Ads with Embeddable
You can track conversions from your components by connecting Google Ads using the Google Ads API. This allows you to measure the effectiveness of your campaigns and optimize ad performance.
How to Connect Google Ads
1. Navigate to Integrations
From the main editor screen, click the Integrations icon (the plug) in the top-right corner.
2. Select Google Ads
Find Google Ads in the integrations list and click Connect.
3. Choose or Create a Credential
In the Select credential dropdown, you can:
- Select an existing credential if you've already connected Google Ads in this project.
- Or click Create New Credential if this is your first time.
4. Create a New Credential (First-Time Setup)
If creating a new credential, fill in the following fields:
- Credential Name: A recognizable name for this connection (e.g., "Main Google Ads").
- Description (Optional): Add a short note for clarity.
- Customer ID (Required): Your Google Ads account Customer ID.
- Conversion Action ID (Required): The Conversion Action ID you want to track in Google Ads.
- Developer Token (Required): The developer token from your Google Ads API settings.
Click Create Credential to save.
5. Connect the Credential
Return to the dropdown, select your newly created credential, and click Connect.
Testing Your Integration
Once connected, your component will send conversion events to Google Ads. To verify:
- Log in to your Google Ads dashboard.
- Open Tools & Settings > Measurement > Conversions to check if events are being recorded.
Best Practices
- Use a dedicated Conversion Action ID for each campaign or project.
- Ensure your Developer Token is active and approved for production use.
- Double-check that your Customer ID matches the correct Google Ads account.
- Test your integration with small-scale conversions before rolling out widely.
